100 YEARS OF PRINCE ALFRED CARLTON

IN 2025 BRIGHT BREWERY TOOK OVER PA’S CARLTON

After 20 years of operations in High Country Vic, Bright Brewery took over the first Melbourne location for the business acquiring the legendary Prince Alfred Carlton 99 years after opening.

For almost a century Prince Alfred or P.A’s as the locals call it has been a beacon for Carlton locals, Melbourne University students and facility along with workers from the near by hospital.

Soon to be in its 100th year, the heart of the pub lives on. A pub made for everyone and anyone alike just now serving some fresh Mountaincrafted beers straight out of Bright.

Bright Brewery was born in 2005 from a passion for well-made beer, a love for the town of Bright and its pristine alpine environment, and the adventurous outdoors lifestyle that the High Country provides.

The brewery was founded by Scott Brandon, his late wife Fiona Reddaway and their friends David and Julia, driven by a desire to make beer great and to share Bright’s spectacular surrounds and environment with everyone who passes through our town. In 2010 Scott and Fiona become sole owners of the business.

Over the next 20 years Bright Brewery has grown from a small family run brewpub in the Victorian High Country to now being a multi venue hospitality and wholesale brewing business.

Still located in Bright, the brewery and its beers can now be found all over Australia and even overseas!

Since our inception, Bright has always put its people and product first helping us grow from a small family operation to a business employing over 100 staff as well as being considered one of the most innovative and prolific independent brewers in Australia.
